Pack 130 Camp Card Fundraiser (Now till May 5th!)
What is the Camp Card Sale?
Each year, hundreds of Scouts earn their way to Summer Camp, Day Camp, or Resident Camp through our council Camp Card Sale. The discount card sells for $5.00 and units keep up to $2.50 per card that they sell. The sale begins on February 23, 2015 and ends May 4, 2015. Each camp card contains discount offers from different vendors. Some offers can be redeemed multiple times and some are one time use only. All offers are valid during the 2014 calendar year. Approximate value of this card is over $250.
LHC Incentive: For every 35 cards sold (enough to earn the way to Day Camp), the Scout’s name will be entered in a drawing for a $50 iTunes gift card. Cards will be available for distribution in Monday, February 23, 2015.
Pack 130 will be issuing 10 cards for each scout for starter to sell and more can be avaible on request with proceeds going to individual summertime camping with the Pack (Jellystone) or LHC daycamp or resident camp 2015. The Pack Treasurer (Tara Lopez) will be the fundraiser chair of this event and will keep a scout roster of cards sold as all sales will need to be validated to prevent conflicts later. At the conclution of the fundraiser all unsold card need to be returned at the den meeting on May 4, 2015.
Example: Johnny Scout sells 8 cards = $20.00 earned towards summertime camping.

Pack 130 Spring Pack Campout - Otter Creek Park, KY
Pack 130 will be hosting a camping event at Otter Creek State Outdoor Recreation Area located between Fort Knox and the Ohio River.
Cost will cover food, snacks, and campsite...and yes family members are welcome!
Location: Otter Creek State Recreational Area
Date: May 1, 2015, depart from MUMC @ 5:00 pm
May 3, 2015, return to MUMC @ 11:00 am
Uniform: Field Uniform (Class A) for Flag Ceremony, Meals, Campfire, and Scouts Own Service and Activity Uniform (Class B) for all other activities
Cost: $10.00 per person payable when you arrive at MUMC or Camp Site, this covers food and sites
Group Leader: Eric Bullock, Cubmaster
Weather: BEAUTIFUL with very slight chance of rain *Optional: All others not wanting to travel with the group from MUMC can simply meet us at the Camp Grounds front gate. Let them know that you are with Pack 130 and they will direct you to the camp site. Directions from E-Town: Travel North on US 31W to the intersection of US-31W and HWY 1638. Turn left onto HWY 1638 and follow it approximately 4 miles to the entrance of the area on the right.
Our activities will include: FISHING, hiking, compass game, capture the flag, leave-no-trace activity and conservation activity.
We will spend the majority of Saturday trying to catch fish, the stream was stocked yesterday with several thousand trout and one has my name on it. Youth 15 and under do not need licenses to fish, but they need poles, hooks, bait, lures, etc. Adults need a Kentucky fishing license and if you want to keep that trout a "trout stamp". These are available for purchase at the front gate. We will be hiking out to the "Blue Hole" and each youth will need a small pack with their essentials. Water, hat, rain gear, sun screen, bug repellant, compass, lunch will be provided, flashlight, fishing gear, etc. the hike is a relatively flat 1/2 mile out and back. I hiked it today and it is a quick trip, note that the banks of the river are VERY muddy so for that part of the day I recommend the old tennis shoes as they will be covered with mud and there may be some wading involved in the fishing. If we catch enough it will be fish for supper.
Along the way we will be picking up trash so that we can leave it better than we find it and may do a little trail repair.
We will also be playing a compass game and each youth will need to have a compass to participate (I am sure there are a few extras that folks will bring).
We will have access to shower facilities so bring toiletries and a change of clothes if you like, do not forget your shower shoes (ick)
As we will have already turned in our final awards for their current rank, this will be a FUN outing focused on learning new skills, experiencing new things and fellowship.

The Lincoln Heritage Council has much to be proud of in the area of quality training.
The University of Scouting is a one-day training event that offers workshops for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing, Commissioner, and District Committee volunteers. The council training committee has assembled the best trainers in the council, and has selected a wide spectrum of individual workshops that will strengthen each volunteer’s ability to deliver better Scouting for our youth. We think you will agree that the range of workshops available through the University of Scouting will improve your leadership skills and deepen your understanding of the impact Scouting has on young people. Encourage every volunteer and interested parent to take the time to attend; we are sure that they will walk away with not only new skills and ideas, but with some new and renewed passion for Scouting.
